monochrome update

some  lighting studies with a character i've been designing for a 3D challenge on CGHub.com. over the next few days i'll post my concepts, backstory, and hopefully some 3D beginnings for more context.

iPad study

Here's a little thing I did on the iPad with the Procreate app. It's super fancy and very capable, I highly recommend it. You can export your work into a .psd file too!

(the lack of pressure sensitivity with the iPad is a huge drawback unless you get one of those new Bluetooth styli that have those capabilities. Fancy stuff.)

update..????

i'm not gonna lie, i've been avoiding updating this blog thing. or maybe i'm too shy.

the following pieces are inspired by Barry Yourgrau's short story, "Night Work," published in the book Wearing Dad's Head. weird stuff galore. I feel kinda stuck--i'm not too happy with my style--it's OK, but i'm not too thrilled with it. and i overthink things like style way too much, yadda yadda... -___-

Pastures of Heaven

This is part of a recent project based on John Steinbeck's second book, The Pastures of Heaven. The stories in the book are set in Salinas' Corral de Tierra. IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL THERE ohmygosh
(I got to talk to a local and took lots of pictures).

TINY OMG)

I REALLY should change my blog-title's name. and url. it's so ... punny. instead of daily, it's more of like "once a month" kinda deal. or is it "once every three months"?

this is for an upcoming contest on DeviantArt. ("FEZ.")
I completely forgot about it and now I'm on a deadline for Friday... ;_;
(ps. i am so unbelievably out of shape--i haven't been drawing for a few days now!)
pps. the painting on the bottom one was the one i started first, and it took me longer than the picture above.funny thing is the one above took me 5 minutes. HAHA! this is not funny. i am not funny. obviously.

procrastinatin'

I'm not a big fan of daylight savings time...
especially if I have to turn the clock back.
